4. In the Extended Authentication section, select either Edge Device or IPSec Host:
Select Edge Device to use this DGFV338 as a VPN concentrator where one or more
gateway tunnels terminate. From the Authentication Type pull-down menu, specify one
of the following authentication types to be used in verifying credentials of the remote VPN
gateways:
Select User Database to verify against the DGFV338's User Database. Users must be
added through the User Database screen (see
page
5-29).
Select RADIUS–CHAP or RADIUS–PAP (depending on the authentication mode
accepted by the RADIUS server) to add a RADIUS server. If RADIUS–PAP is
selected, the DGFV338 will first check in the User Database to see if the user
credentials are available. If the user account is not present, the DGFV338 will then
connect to the RADIUS server (see
Select IPSec Host if you want to be authenticated by the remote gateway. In the adjacent
Username and Password fields, type in the information user name and password
associated with the IKE policy for authenticating to the remote gateway.
5. Click Apply to save your settings.

User Database Configuration

The User Database screen is used to configure and administer users when Extended
Authentication is enabled as an Edge Device. Whether or not you use an external RADIUS server,
you may want some users to be authenticated locally. These users must be added to the User
Database Configured Users table.
To add a new user:
1. Select VPN from the main menu and VPN Client from the submenu. The User Database
screen will display.
2. Enter a User Name. This is the unique ID of a user which will be added to the User Name
database.
3. Enter a Password for the user, and reenter the password in the Confirm Password field.
