IGNITION SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING
NO SPARK AT SPARK PLUG
• Check the engine oil level before troubleshooting.
Disconnect the ignition coil Black wire
connector and start the engine.
Engine starts
Check the oil level switch (page 8-7).
Normal
Check the oil alert unit (page 8-7).
Normal
CX type:
Check the engine stop switch (page 10-18).
CXS type:
Check the combination switch (page 10-19).
Normal
Check for continuity between the junction box
terminals (page 10-20).
Normal
Short circuit in wire harness. If wire harness
is normal, replace the AVR (page 10-3).
Engine does not starts
Check the ignition coil (page 8-6).
Abnormal
Replace the oil level switch (page 14-4).
Abnormal
Replace the oil alert unit (page 8-5).
Abnormal
CX type:
Replace the engine stop switch.
CXS type:
Replace the combination switch.
Abnormal
Replace the junction box (page 10-3).
