4.6.2 General Faults

The following table lists symptoms and causes for general fault diagnosis.
Gas Reading Symptom Cause/Remedy
Non-zero all the time
Non-zero when no
gas is present
Low when gas
is applied
High when gas
is applied
Zero when gas
is applied
4. OPERATION
The cartridge is reaching, or has reached, the end
of its useful service life.
Warning
- replace the cartridge within the next 3 months.
Fault
- replace the cartridge immediately.
A fatal error has occurred.
Note the displayed fault code and conditions, and contact the manufacturer
for advice.
The transmitter can not detect the presence of the sensor.
Sensor incorrectly connected or faulty.
Check connections between Certified Sensor and transmitter unit.
If connections correct but message remains, replace Certified Sensor.
Gas could be present, ensure that there is no target gas in the atmosphere.
Background or other volatile organic gases that may be present, e.g. solvents,
can interfere with the operation of the Certified Sensor.
Adjust the system zero.
(Calibration Menu => Gas Calibrate).
Adjust the system span concentration setting.
(Calibration Menu => Gas Calibrate).
Adjust the system span concentration setting.
(Calibration Menu => Gas Calibrate).
Check that the Certified Sensor gas entry is not
obstructed.
Check that the sinter and any filter, if fitted, is not blocked.
Replace the cartridge.
(Configuration Menu => Change Cartridge).
