Resetting the Interface to the Default Configuration

If you have configured a interface with many command lines and you want to clear all the configuration on that interface, use
the default interface global configuration command, as follows:
Switch(config)# default interface fastEthernet 3/5
Interface FastEthernet3/5 set to default configuration
This command clears all the configurations and shut down the interface:
Switch# show run interface fastethernet 3/5
Building configuration...
Current configuration : 58 bytes
!
interface FastEthernet3/5
no ip address
shutdown
end
