Types of Stack Topology
The units in a stack can be connected in one of the following types of topologies:
Chain Topology—One stack port (either left or right) of the first unit is connected to
the stack port in the second unit. All units in the stack are connected to the stack
port in the next unit except for the first and last unit. The following shows a chain
topology:
Stack in Chain Topology
Ring Topology—All the units in the stack are connected in a chain. The last unit is
connected to the first unit. The following shows a ring topology:
