Selection of slave protocol
Ethernet modules are provided for the IEC61850 and other communication†, and an serial
module‡ will be provided optionally for the Modbus RTU or IEC60870-5-103 slave
communication.
Figure 10.1-1 illustrates the IED has IEC61850, IEC103 and Modbus, and the user can select
one of three using SLAVE PROTOCOL setting of Communication sub-menu. IEC61850 and
others have its own settings. For example, an IED has IEC61850 settings, such as [GOINT],
whereas it has IEC103 settings, such as [103ADDR].

†Note: Selection and operation is dependent on the IED configurations, which the
customer has determined with the ordering code. Accordingly, the selection and
operation can be unavailable if the protocol is not provided (see p.514). To examine
the IED configuration, check your ordering code referring
DNP3.0 is not supported here (even though the DNP3.0 is displayed on the LCD).
