Checking the Engine-Oil Level

Note:
Check the oil when the engine is cool. If the engine is warm, wait 10 minutes before
checking.
The engine is shipped with oil in the crankcase; however, check the oil level before and after
you first start the engine.
If the oil level is below the lower limit mark on the dipstick, add oil gradually until the level
reaches the upper limit mark on the dipstick.
Keep the engine-oil level between the upper and lower limits on the dipstick.
Overfilling or underfilling the engine oil may cause severe engine damage.
1. Prepare the machine for maintenance.
2. Unlatch and open the hood.
3. Check the level of the engine oil.
4. Close and latch the hood.
