Install USB Flash Drive

This procedure describes how to install USB flash drive.
Step 1
Plug in USB flash drive.
■ Factory shipped (Fujitsu) USB flash drive:
• NE verifies the encryption password and is good to continue.
■ Non-factory shipped (non-Fujitsu) USB flash drive:
• NE verifies the encryption password and fails. An invalidUSB alarm is raised.
• Format and encrypt the USB flash drive.
Command:
> request format-usb
Step Result:
After the USB flash drive is formatted and encrypted to Fujitsu format, the invalidUSB alarm clears and the OSL
file automatically downloads to the USB flash drive. Software sync alarm softwareSyncInProgress is raised when
copying OSL to USB flash drive and cleared when complete. Later the database file from primary database is
downloaded to the USB flash drive.
Note: Database manager runs a 10-minute timer and detects if a change between primary database to
secondary database exists, copies primary database to secondary database location (USB flash drive). After
databases are in sync, noSecondaryDatabase alarm is cleared.
Step 2
View files saved to the USB flash drive. If user has no need to view, procedure is complete.
Command:
> request show-file filename /mnt/secondary/var/shared/confd/backup
Step 3
Optionally, remove the USB flash drive.
Note: User can keep the USB flash drive plugged into the shelf if required.
Command:
> request remove-usb
Step Result:
A UsbSafeToRemove event is raised when USB flash drive can be safely removed.
