Initial System Turn Up
Configure IP Connection to DCN
The following steps describe provisioning for one NE in detail. Remember this provisioning is required for each
NE involved in the network of OSC-linked NEs connecting the current NE (being turned up) with the DCN.
Step 1
Change to CLI configuration mode.
Command:
> configure

Configure NEM Interface

Step 2
Create the NEM interface and set its IP address.
Command:
% set interfaces interface ip-1/0/0/NEM type ip ipv4 forwarding true address
<ip_address> prefix-length <prefix-length> preferred true
Parameter

Command Example:
% set interfaces interface ip-1/0/0/NEM type ip ipv4 forwarding true address
2.2.2.2 prefix-length 32 preferred true

Configure IP Interfaces for OSC Links

Prerequisite:
■ All provisioning for each OSC link is complete, including provisioning of the ETH interface on the E-SC-E1 port.
Step 3
Create an IP interface on the E-SC-E1 port that supports the OSC link. Configure this IP interface to share the
NEM IP address.
Command:
% set interfaces interface <interface> type ip ipv4 enabled forwarding true
address-src ip-1/0/0/NEM mtu <mtu_size>
