Tripping logic
The function can be disabled during the testing mode under these condi-
tions:
• When the function is selected to be blocked under the testing condi-
tions, select the functions, which should be blocked under the sub-
menu:
Test
BlockFunctions
• Set the Operation parameter to On (Operation=On) to set the termi-
nal in to testing mode. Select the operating mode under this sub-
menu:
Test
TestMode
Operation
• The terminal is switched to testing mode when the logical 1 is speci-
fied for the TEST-INPUT functional input.
Note: The function is blocked if the corresponding setting under the
BlockFunctions submenu remains on and the TEST-INPUT signal
remains active.
Here, it is practically impossible to provide any general instructions on the
testing procedure for the testing of the tripping logic as built into the REx
5xx protection and monitoring terminals. The reason is that the configura-
tion of each terminal depends very much on the functionality defined by
the user.
So when you test different functions, ABB Network Partner recommends that
you check the correct operation of the tripping logic for the operation of dif-
ferent built-in protection and control functions. Also use the appropriate docu-
mentation that is issued separately for each terminal. The appropriate
documentation indicates the terminal´s serial number, so always check it.
