RTR transmission

This section describes the procedure for sending an RTR using a Layer 2 message.
Setting method
Configure the Layer 2 message RTR transmission setting in the buffer memory. The following table lists the settings and their
locations.
Item
Location
Send/receive setting
Parameter A of 'Pre-defined Layer 2 message configuration'
(Un\G6000 to Un\G6167)
CAN-ID
CAN-ID n of 'Receive/Transmit process data' (Un\G10000 to
Un\G10293)
RTR response setting
Parameter B of 'Pre-defined Layer 2 message configuration'
(Un\G6000 to Un\G6167)
RTR response condition
b12 of RTR/new/DLC of 'Receive/Transmit process data'
(Un\G10000 to Un\G10293)
Frame type
b15 of RTR/new/DLC of 'Receive/Transmit process data'
(Un\G10000 to Un\G10293)
Transmission type
Parameter C of 'Pre-defined Layer 2 message configuration'
(Un\G6000 to Un\G6167)
Cycle time
Parameter D of 'Pre-defined Layer 2 message configuration'
(Un\G6000 to Un\G6167)
Data length
Lower byte of RTR/new/DLC of 'Receive/Transmit process
data' (Un\G10000 to Un\G10293)
For details, refer to the following.
Page 176 Pre-defined Layer 2 message configuration (Un\G6000 to Un\G6167)
Page 184 Receive/Transmit process data (Un\G10000 to Un\G10293)
Flow of RTR transmission
The procedure for sending an RTR is the same as the procedure for sending data. ( Page 63 Flow of data transmission)
However, for RTR transmission, Receive/Transmit process data is not sent.
RTR transmission timing
The RTR transmission timing is the same as the data transmission timing. ( Page 64 Data transmission timing)
Since RTR transmission does not have send data, neither an event (COS) nor a cycle (COS) can be selected.
Setting value
Remarks
FFFFH
The setting value is fixed.
Optional
Set the CAN-ID for a data
transmission to be requested to
another node.
5FFFH
The setting value is fixed.
0: Invalid
The setting value is fixed.
1: Send RTR frame
The setting value is fixed.
One of the following
Set the transmission timing.
values:
However, COS cannot be used.
0: Event
2: Cycle
4: Transmission trigger
only
