Suggestion
The Genesis Touch is designed so that the patient can't
inadvertently turn the monitor off. To accomplish this, the
ability to turn the monitor off was prohibited unless a
password has been entered. To turn the monitor off, you must
be in a password protected area, such as the General or
Advanced settings area, then press and hold down the power
button.
In rare cases, the power button may be inadvertently pressed
for longer than 15 seconds, causing the unit to turn off when
on battery power. Simply press the Power button again to turn
the unit back on.
Press and release the Power button. The Vitals Now/Home
screen appears.
There is a Volume button next to the Power button on the
monitor. Use this button to adjust volume while taking vital
signs.
For the A&D scale, units are displayed according to the
switch setting on the bottom of the scale. Verify that the
switch is set to the units required before deploying to a
patient.
If the care provider has not chosen questions with educational
information for the patient, the Education button will not
appear on the screen. The same is true for video. If the care
provider has not set up video for the patient, The Video button
will not appear on the screen.
Questions that provide education are numbers 52-61. You can
enable the All Education feature so that questions containing
education are presented and viewed by the user under the
education section in the Vitals Now/Home Screen.
If the monitor is set up to transmit over Wi-Fi but either loses
or cannot establish a connection with Wi-Fi, the monitor will
transmit vitals over the GPRS radio.
Please press the button to move the menu selector to the Exit
selection. When Exit is selected, hold down the single button
for approximately 1-2 seconds until the Contec device returns
to the reading screen and turns off if no finger is placed in the
device.
