5. Press the CURSOR PAD to highlight the BAUD RATE option,
then press the EDIT menu key. Select 9600, then press the
ENTER key.
6. Press the STAR key to display the RECEIVER OPTIONS
screen.
Press
DIFFERENTIAL OPERATIONS field, then select, if not already
set, WAAS or AUTO, and press the ENTER key. If the 941
displays the message COMM FAIL, press the PWR key to turn
the unit off, then turn it back on again.
Using demo mode to simulate WAAS
You can simulate the use of WAAS in demo mode. To enable
demo mode, follow the instructions on page 82 of the Northstar
941X Reference Manual, Rev. D (part number GM1100). Once the
unit is in demo mode, press the STAR key to display the
RECEIVER OPTIONS screen, then highlight the DIFFERENTIAL
OPERATIONS field, then select the WAAS option and press the
ENTER key. You'll now see the WAAS indicator on certain
screens.
Viewing distance-to-go on the NAVLOG screen
The NAVLOG screen now shows the distance from your current
location to the end of your trip, calculated from the number of
remaining legs and the length of each leg. The distance-to-go
(DTG) is given in nautical miles, kilometers, or statute miles,
depending on the distance/speed units you select on the
DISPLAY OPTIONS screen.
