CHAPTER 3 MECHANICAL SYSTEMS

1.2 Switches

The machine is equipped with two
microswitches (DADF switch MS1 and up-
per cover open/close switch MS2) to pre-
vent operation while it or its upper cover is
open.

1.2.1 Adjusting the DADF Switch (MS)

1) Remove the body cover.
2) Open and close the machine; then, ad-
just the retaining plate [2] so that the
DADF switch (MS1) [1] turns on and
off when the machine's edge is between
10 and 100 mm from the copyboard
glass.

1.2.2 Upper Cover Switch (MS2)

1) Check to make sure that both front and
rear upper cover switches turn on when
the upper cover is closed.
