2.5 Reversing Originals

2.5.1 Operations

An original may be turned over from its
first side to second side or from its second
side to first side. The same mechanism is
used, and the following represent reversal
from the first side to the second side:
1. Picking Up for the 1st Side
The original is picked up from the origi-
nal tray to the copyboard glass.
2. Reversing/Feeding
The feed belt is rotated in clockwise di-
rection so that the original on the
copyboard glass is moved in reverse.
3. Reversing/Switching Delivery
The paper deflecting plate solenoid
(SL3) is turned on to open the paper de-
flecting plate so that the original is
moved back to the copyboard glass
(turned over by the time it reaches the
copyboard glass).
The scanner starts to move forward
when the second original is placed on
the copyboard glass.
While the scanner is moving in reverse,
the original is reversed, and the first
original is placed on the copyboard
glass.
The original is delivered when its 1st
side has been copied.
