CHAPTER 2 OPERATIONS AND TIMING

2.6.2 Delivery Operations

a. Operations
Originals are delivered to the original tray
as follows from the copyboard glass:
1. Using the Feed Belt
The feed belt is rotated in clockwise di-
rection to deliver the original from the
copyboard glass.
2. Using the Delivery/Reversing Roller
The original carried by the feed belt is
put between the delivery/reversing roller
and the feed roller and moved ahead. In
the case of small-size originals, as many
as two originals are repicked up at the
same time.
When the leading edge of an
original reaches a point about
REF.
15 mm ahead of the reversal
sensor (S8), the feed belt starts
to rotate in counterclockwise
direction to prepare for the
next pickup operation.
3. Delivery/Reversal Switching
The paper deflecting plate solenoid
(SL3) is off so that the paper deflecting
plate remains closed, causing the origi-
nal to move toward the original tray.
The next original is moved to the
copyboard glass.
4. Delivering to the Original Tray
As soon as the trailing edge of the origi-
nal moves past the delivery roller, the
feed motor switches to low-speed rota-
tion to limit the impact of delivery.
