7. Extension Boards
Required actions
• If you supply your own extension board (a PCI Express or PCI board), you are responsible for confirming that
each component on the board meets the operating temperature specifications when the components heat up.
• After installing an extension board, save the dummy bracket and store it in a safe place.
8. Lithium Batteries
Required actions
• This equipment uses a lithium battery. When disposing of the battery, observe all applicable local laws and
regulations.
9. Optical Mouse
Required actions
• Due to the nature of the optical sensor in an optical mouse, an optical mouse might not work on transparent
materials or light-reflecting materials (such as glass and mirrors). Avoid using an optical mouse on these materials,
or purchase a commercially available optical mouse pad.
• If the optical sensor is clouded with condensation or oil mist, the optical mouse might not work properly. If you
are using an optical mouse in an environment where such effects might occur, take appropriate measures to protect
the equipment.
10. BIOS settings
Specifications
• As long as an AC disconnection does not occur, the BIOS settings are retained even if the backup battery runs out
of power or is not installed. After an AC disconnection, the BIOS settings will return to the default settings after
system startup, but the OS always starts regardless of the After AC Power On setting.
• If you perform an AC disconnection (such as by holding down the power switch for four or more seconds) without
performing the proper shutdown processing while the equipment is operating, the behavior of the system when
power is restored might differ from when the proper shutdown processing is performed.
• The purpose of the clock displayed on the BIOS setup menu screen is not to show the correct date and time, but
rather to configure the time. Because of this, the date displayed on this screen does not change when the actual
date changes. If the actual date changes during setup, you must update the date setting. (See 5.6 BIOS Setup.)
• When you are using the setup menu, the clock display might sometimes show a delay. After you are finished in the
setup menu, verify that the clock is correct. (See 5.6 BIOS Setup.)
