Outboard Rigging Guide - 2001
Display Stand Assembly
1. Install the skeg base plate as shown.
N O T E :
Be sure the upper cavitation plate support
slot faces inboard.
2. Insert the two studs of the right-hand display
stand supports through the two holes of the
skeg base plate. Place one lock washer and
one acorn nut onto each stud and tighten.
Then, repeat the procedure for the left-hand
side.
T ightening T orque:
2 .0m-kg ( 14.0 ft-lb.)
CAUTION:
D o not over-tighten. T he outboard or display
stand could be damaged.
Outboard Motor Installation
1. Place the outboard motor onto a hydraulic lift
(with the motor in a vertical upright position)
allowing an approximate clearance between
the tip of the skeg and the floor of one foot.
WARNING
B efore proceeding to the next step, be certain
the outboard is secure on the lift to prevent
possible bodily injury to yourself and/or dam-
age to the outboard motor or accessory.
2. Take the display stand in hand and align the
outboard's cavitation plates, (LH & RH) and
skeg with that of the cavitation plate supports
and skeg support on the display stand. Slide
the stand onto the motor from the rear.
N O T E :
It may be necessary to remove the prop
before fitting the display stand to the motor. Also,
when installing the display stand, note that the
cavitation plate supports are off-set to the rear of
the display stand.
