Configure the Management Port IP Address

To access the system remotely, assign IP addresses to the management ports.
NOTE:
Assign an IP address to the management port.

Enter INTERFACE mode for the Management port for RPM 0 (RPM 0 is in slot 10).
CONFIGURATION mode
interface ManagementEthernet 0/0
For RPM 1 (RPM1 in slot 11), configure its Management port:
interface ManagementEthernet 1/0

Assign an IP address to the interface.

ip address ip-address/mask
ip-address: an address in dotted-decimal format (A.B.C.D).
mask: a subnet mask in /prefix-length format (/ xx).

Enable the interface.

Configure a Management Route

Define a path from the switch to the network from which you are accessing the system remotely.
Management routes are separate from IP routes and are only used to manage the switch through the
management port.
Configure a management route to the network from which you are accessing the system.
CONFIGURATION mode
management route ip-address/mask gateway
ip-address: the network address in dotted-decimal format (A.B.C.D).
mask: a subnet mask in /prefix-length format (/ xx).
gateway: the next hop for network traffic originating from the management port.

To access the system remotely, you must configure a system username and password.
