Double-precision data words (Figure 2-la) include two data words, each one having
15 magnitude bits.
The first data word includes the 15 most significant bits (MSB) of the
number plus a sign bit.
It
is identical to a data word using single-precision.
The second
data word includes the 15 least significant bits (LSB) of the double-precision word.
The
sign position is always zero.
Double-precision data words represent a data range of
