Designating an Existing Hub as a Staging Bridge
The procedures in this section describe how to designate an existing hub (QPSK or
CMTS) as a staging bridge.
Designating an Existing QPSK as a Staging Bridge
Follow this procedure to designate an existing QPSK as a staging bridge.

From the DNCS Administrative Console, click the Network Element
Provisioning tab.

Click QPSK/CMTS. The QPSK/CMTS list panel displays.

Locate the QPSK modulator you want to designate as a staging bridge in the
QPSK/CMTS list.

Double-click the name of the QPSK modulator.

In Options, select the Staging Bridge check box.

Click Save. The DNCS will use this QPSK modulator as a staging bridge.
Designating an Existing CMTS as a Staging Bridge
Follow this procedure to designate an existing CMTS as a staging bridge.

From the DNCS Administrative Console, click the Network Element
Provisioning tab.

Click QPSK/CMTS. The QPSK/CMTS list panel displays.

Locate the CMTS you want to designate as a staging bridge in the QPSK/CMTS
list.

Double-click the name of the CMTS.

In Options, select the Staging Bridge check box.

Click Save. The DNCS will use this CMTS as a staging bridge.
