Setting up from the printer control panel
Toner reduction mode
Specify how to adjust the toner amount to print graphics with thin lines. Select Normal to prioritize color.
Sharpness
Adjust the sharpness of printed output.
Sorter mode
Choose how to output multiple-page or multiple-copy jobs. The Collate setting collates multiple copies. The Group
setting groups together all copies of each page. Both Collate and Group deliver the finished copies in the same
direction. You can specify this option when the finisher is attached.
Note: The available options depend upon the finishers attached to the printer.
Text width adjustment color
Specify whether to adjust text width for all colors or for black only.
Text width adjustment
Adjusts text objects by making them thicker.
Toner saving
Specify whether to minimize the effects of "blasting," which occurs when excess amounts of toner on certain media
types "blast" beyond the density boundaries defined in the print job.
Vertical text width adjustment
Adjusts text objects by making them thicker in a vertical direction. Select Level 1 to thicken the width of text objects.
Select Level 2 to further thicken the width of text objects (compared to Level 1).
Note: The horizontal or vertical direction is determined by the direction of paper output. The main scanning
direction is horizontal. For long edge feed, the long side is recognized as horizontal, and the short side is recognized
as vertical. For short edge feed, the long side is recognized as vertical and the short side is recognized as horizontal.
