Use WINS
Broadcasts from SMB devices cannot pass across a router without a WINS server. Setting up the WINS server is
outside the scope of this manual. To find out if a name server is available, contact your network administrator.
Get WINS address automatically
Automatically gets the IP address of the WINS server.
WINS Server
Enter the IP address of the WINS server. If you manually set the IP address, make sure you obtain the correct
address from your network administrator.
Note: This option is available when Get WINS address automatically is not selected.
Netbios name
The Netbios name appears on the network for accessing the imagePRESS Server through SMB. The default
name is the same as the server name.
Note: After selecting the DNS Setup options and WINS name server settings, wait until the printer stops
processing jobs, and then turn off and on the printer for the settings to take effect.
IPv6
Enable IPv6
Enables the imagePRESS Server to retrieve an IPv6 address from the network.
If Enable IPv6 is selected:
A link-local address is created.
The corresponding router needs to exist on the network to create a stateless address.
Note: IPv6 supports HTTP, IPP, LPR, Port 9100, SMB and SNMP protocols. The behavior of SMTP, POP, and
SLP protocols is not guaranteed when enabled.
IPv6 Address
Automatically displays all the IPv6 addresses for the imagePRESS Server.
IPv6 has the following limitations:
Up to eight IPv6 addresses can be entered.
Each address can have a maximum of 64 characters.
