Inspection
The vehicle should be inspected after
placed on a horizontal surface. Quantities
measured may be incorrect on a slope.
The oil quantity should be checked either
before starting the engine or at least
two or three minutes after stopping the
engine. If oil still remains in various parts
of the engine, the correct measurement
of oil quantities cannot be made. Take
out the oil level gauge from crankcase
and wipe it with a clean cloth. Reinsert
the level gauge firmly once, then remove
it again. The level of the oil on the gauge
should be between the upper and the
lower limits. If it is near the lower limit,
more oil should be put in. The oil should
be replaced if it shows excessive change in
colour.
Refilling
Remove the filler cap, and refill specified
oil up to the upper limit line. Having
finished refilling, start the engine and
after leaving it idling for about three
minutes, stop the engine, and two or
three minutes later, check the oil level
on the level gauge.
Verification

Autrement, l'indication pourrait
incorrecte. Le niveau d'huile doit être
vérifié soit avant la mise en marche du
moteur, soit au moins 2 ou 3 minutes
après son arrêt. Si de l'huile se trouve
encore dans diverses parties du moteur,
l'on ne pourra obtenir une indication
correcte. Retirer la jauge d'huile du
carter moteur et l'essuyer avec un chiffon
propre. Remettre à nouveau la jauge
d'huile puis la retirer. L'huile doit se
trouver entre les repères de niveaux
maximum et minimum de la jauge. Si
elle se trouve proche du niveau mini-
mum, faire l'appoint. Renouveler l'huile
si elle présente un changement de couleur
excessif.
Appoint d'huile
Retirer le bouchon de remplissage et
faire l'appoint d'huile jusqu'au niveau
maximum. Après le remplissage, mettre
le moteur en marche puis, après l'avoir
laissé tourner au ralenti pendant environ
3 minutes, l'arrêter et, 2 ou 3 minutes
après, vérifier le niveau d'huile à l'aide
de la jauge.
