Chapter 4: Installation
In slow-flowing wastewater streams, overflow sampling retains a volume of sample until the Analyzer has a
sample demand. On demand, the Analyzer pulls in sample from the reservoir as excess overflows to a gravity
drain. See
Figure
22.
An exterior sample peristaltic pump may also be used with this method when there is no sample flow. Up to
four (4) samplers can be operated in parallel using this method when the 5-stream option is selected.
1.
Attach and secure the Wastewater sampler brackets to the left side of the Analyzer, as follows. (The
screws are taped to the side of each bracket.)
• Top bracket — Slide the following bracket over the plate adapter and secure it by tightening a screw
on each end of the plate adapter.
• Lower bracket — Hold the following bracket so that the screw holes are aligned with the available
screw openings on the Analyzer, and secure with the provided screws. (Depending which openings
were used to install the multi-stream valve bracket to the inside of the Analyzer, the available
openings may vary between (A) and (A) or (B) and (B).
2.
If using the installed external sample pump, the pump should be oriented as shown in
Overflow Method — External Sample Pump Position on page 96.
