Deck motor

To remove/replace a deck motor:
NOTE: Deck motor diagnostics is covered in the
troubleshooting section of Chapter 5: Electri-
cal System.
NOTE: The deck motors and the harness are ser-
viced as one assembly. They can not be
separated.
The RZT-S Zero is equipped with a
! CAUTION
! CAUTION
48 volt system. Removing the pods
will expose the high voltage wiring.
1.
Disconnect the battery pack's positive lead from the
contactor assembly by following the procedures
described in the left pod section of Chapter 2: Body.
2.
Lower the deck into the lowest position using the
deck lift handle.
3.
Remove the seat box assembly top plate by follow-
ing the procedures described in Chapter 2: Body

Slide the front (4
assembly enough gain full access to the hole in the
frame the motor harnesses pass through.
See Figure 7.17.
5.
Disconnect the deck motors' high current and hall
effect harnesses from the control panel.
See Figure 7.18.
NOTE: Marking the connectors with a paint marker
will make re-assembly easier.
6.
Fish the harnesses out of the mower.
7.
Remove the blade and blade adapter by following
the procedures described in the blade removal sec-
tion of this chapter.
8.
Remove the four screws that secure the motor to
the deck using a 1/2" wrench. See Figure 7.19.
9.
Carefully lift the deck motor off of the deck.
10.
Install a deck motor by following the previous steps
in reverse order.
11.
Test run the mower in a safe area before returning it
to service.
