Installing the server using the fixed rail mounting kit model TP-
SPCMF1
This procedure is the same regardless of whether the cabinet is 800 or 1000 mm deep. Do NOT remove
the plastic feet from the bottom of the server (when oriented as a tower). This installation procedure
intentionally omits use of the server front bezel cover. This is done to allow the front retaining brackets to
bear against a flat surface. If the server front bezel is required for security reasons, the front retaining
brackets bears against an angled surface which may reduce their effectiveness.
To install the server
1. From the front of the cabinet, open the door to access the pre-installed fixed rail mounting kit.
2. Remove the left and right front retaining brackets.
3. The rear retaining bracket is located in a slot in the rear of the left side mounting bracket (when
viewed from the front of the cabinet). Position the rear retaining bracket approximately 83 mm[3.25
inches] forward of the rear edge of the left side mounting bracket.
4. Measure the distance between the inside surfaces of the left and right side mounting brackets
should be approximately 445mm [17.5 inches]. If necessary, loosen the screws securing the front
and back of the side mounting brackets and adjust them such that they are centered between the
vertical mounting rails and approximately 445mm [17.5 inches] apart.
5. From the front of the cabinet, slide the server into the side mounting brackets until it contacts the
rear retaining bracket.
6. Install the left and right front retaining brackets and adjust the stop pegs so they contact the front
surfaces of the server as shown in the following figure.
