Engine Assembly
E n g i n e R e m o v a l
Special Tools Required
• Front subframe adapter VSB02C000016
• Engine support hanger, A and Reds AAR-T-12566
(available t h r o u g h Honda Tool and Equipment
p r o g r a m , 888-424-6857)
• Engine hanger balance bar VSB02C000019
NOTE:
• Use fender covers to avoid d a m a g i n g painted
surfaces.
• To avoid damaging the w i r e s and terminals, unplug
the w i r i n g connectors carefully w h i l e holding the
connector portion.
• Mark all w i r i n g and hoses to avoid misconnection.
Also, be sure that they do not contact other w i r i n g ,
hoses, or interfere w i t h other parts.
1. Make sure y o u have the anti-theft codes for the
radio and navigation system, then w r i t e d o w n the
customer's audio presets.
2. Remove the s u p p o r t strut f r o m the engine h o o d .
Move the engine hood to a vertical position, then
reinstall the right side support strut as s h o w n .
NOTE: Do not attempt to close the hood w i t h the
support strut in the vertical position, as it w i l l
damage the support strut and h o o d .
3. Turn the I M A battery m o d u l e switch OFF (see page
12-4).
4. Relieve fuel pressure (see page 11-354).
5. Disconnect the negative cable f r o m the battery first,
then disconnect the positive cable.
6. Remove the battery.
7. Remove the f r o n t grille cover (see step 1 on page
20-111).
8. Remove the air cleaner housing assembly
(see page 11-382).
9. Remove the harness clamps (A).
10. Remove the t w o bolts (B), and loosen the t w o bolts
(C), then remove the battery base (D).
