Fuel Gauge Sending Unit - Honda ACCORD HYBRID 2005 Service Manual

F u e l G a u g e S e n d i n g U n i t T e s t
NOTE: For the fuel gauge system circuit d i a g r a m , refer
to the Gauges Circuit Diagram (see page 22-228).
1. Do multiplex integrated control system
t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g test mode A (see page 22-84).
• If no p r o b l e m is f o u n d , go to step 2.
• If DTC B1175 is indicated, go to the DTC B1175
t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g (see page 22-242).
2. Check the No. 21 METER (7.5 A) fuse in the under-
dash fuse/relay box.
3. Do the gauge drive circuit check (see page 22-227).
• If the fuel gauge needle sweeps f r o m the
m i n i m u m to m a x i m u m position and then returns
to m i n i m u m , the gauge is OK. Go to step 4.
• If the fuel gauge needle does not sweep correctly,
replace the gauge assembly and retest.
4. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
5. Remove the fuel tank (see page 11-367).
6. Remove the fuel tank unit f r o m the fuel tank
(see page 11-366).
7.| Measure resistance between the No. 1 and No. 2
terminals of the fuel p u m p 5P connector w i t h the
float at E (EMPTY), 1/2 (HALF FULL), and F (FULL)
positions.
If y o u do not get the f o l l o w i n g readings, replace the
fuel gauge sending unit (see page 11-366).

NOTE: Remove the No. 15 BACK UP (40 A) fuse
f r o m the under-hood fuse/relay box for at least
10 seconds after completing t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g ,
otherwise it may take up to 20 minutes for the fuel
gauge to indicate the correct fuel level.
