Radiator Fan High Speed Circuit Troubleshooting
1. Remove the radiator fan relay f r o m the under-hood
fuse/relay box, and test it (see page 22-72).
Is the relay OK ?
Y E S — G o t o step 2.
NO—Replace the radiator fan relay. •
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
3. Measure the voltage between radiator fan relay 4P
socket terminal No.1 and body g r o u n d .

Is there battery voltage?
Y E S — G o t o step 4.
NO—Replace the under-hood fuse/relay box.
4. Connect radiator fan relay 4P socket terminals
No. 1 and No. 2 w i t h a j u m p e r w i r e .

Does the radiator fan run at high speed?
Y E S — G o t o step 5.
NO—Repair an open in the w i r e between radiator
fan relay 4P socket terminal No. 2 and radiator fan
motor 2P connector t e r m i n a l No. 2, or open
between terminal No. 1 and body g r o u n d . •
5. Measure voltage between radiator fan relay 4P
socket terminal No. 3 and body g r o u n d w i t h the
ignition switch ON (II).

Y E S — R e p a i r an open in the w i r e between radiator
fan relay 4P socket terminal No. 4 and the
powertain control m o d u l e (PCM).B
NO—Repair an open in the w i r e between radiator
fan relay 4P socket t e r m i n a l No. 3 and the under-
dash fuse/relay b o x . B
