9. Set the No. 1 piston at top dead center (TDC) (see
step 2 on page 6-10).
10. Install the adapter (10 x 1.0 m m ) (A) to the
inspection hole, then connect the air pressure
regulator (B).

11. Loosen the valve on the regulator, and apply the
specified air pressure.
Specified Air Pressure:
200 kPa (2.0 kgf/cm 2 , 28 psi)
12. W i t h the specified air pressure applied, push on the
intake secondary rocker a r m (C) for the No. 1
cylinder. The intake secondary rocker a r m should
m o v e independently of the intake p r i m a r y rocker
a r m A and intake primary rocker a r m B.
• If the intake secondary rocker a r m does not m o v e
independently, remove the intake p r i m a r y rocker
arm A, intake p r i m a r y locker arm B, and intake
secondary rocker a r m as an assembly, and check
that the pistons in the rocker arms m o v e
s m o o t h l y . If any intake rocker arm needs
replacing, replace the primary and secondary
rocker arms as an assembly, and retest.
• If the intake secondary rocker arm moves freely,
go to step 13.
