The *ESE common command sets the bits of the ESER (Event Status Enable
Register) used in the status and events reporting system of the waveform
generator. The *ESE? query returns the contents of the ESER. Refer to Status
and Events for more information about the ESER.
If the power-on status flag is TRUE, the power-on default for the ESER will
reset all bits to zero. If this flag is set to FALSE, the ESER bits do not change
value during the power-on cycle.

where <NR1> is a decimal integer within the range from 0 to 255. The ESER bits
will be set to the binary equivalent of the decimal integer sent.
*ESE 177
sets the ESER to 177 (binary 10110001), which sets the PON, CME, EXE, and
OPC bits.

might return 176,which indicates that the ESER contains the binary number
11010000.
