Running a Test Using Horizontal /Vertical Search Areas
Before saving a base position, you can perform a test to check whether or not edges were detected in a vertical
or horizontal search area. When a live image is currently displayed, capture a new image first and begin the test.
When a memory image is displayed, run a test using the currently displayed memory image without capturing any
images.
1.
Select "POS. ADJ. (GRAY EDGE).
2.
Press the A key while the tab or item under the tab is highlighted.
If no edge is detected, the following error code will appear in the message area.
E0044
Check to make sure that the error code above does not appear or that the edges were detected.

6.14.2 Saving a Base Position

The procedures for registering the current object position as a base position are described below. Before saving a
base position, set horizontal and vertical search areas first and check to make sure that the search areas could
detect the edges of the object. When a live image is displayed, a base position is saved after capturing a new
image. When a memory image is displayed, the current memory image is saved as a base position without
capturing any image.
Registration procedure:
1.
Select the "Base Position" tab.
The cursor moves to "Base Setting".
2.
Press the ENTER key.
When the dialog message shown below appears, choose "YES" to
continue.
If the edges were correctly detected and the base position was
saved, the following information appears in the message area.
Judgment: OK
Adj. X 0.0
Adj. Y: 0.0
If the following message appears, horizontal and vertical edges could not be detected. Check the setting
values for areas (positions of start /end points) or the inspection objects.
E0042 Base position cannot be detected.
