10) Removing a USB or i.LINK (IEEE1394) compliant device

When removing a USB or i.LINK (IEEE1394) compliant storage device such as an MO drive, be
sure to carry out the procedure for stopping the use of the device to prevent data loss.
Step 1)
Click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the notification area.
Step 2)
Click the "Safely remove xxxx (storage device to be removed)" in the menu displayed.
Step 3)
When the message "Can be removed safely" is displayed, click the Close (×) button.
Step 4)
Remove the storage device from the PC.
11) Formatting removable media
* The screenshots used are from Windows XP.
* This procedure is performed in Windows.
Step 1)
Open "My Computer" in Windows.
Step 2)
Use the mouse to select the icon for the removable medium to be formatted.
