11.5 Connecting to a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) (Telephone Interconnect)
The transceiver starts the Auto Telephone Search using one of the following operations:
 Auto Telephone key
Pressing the Auto Telephone key causes the transceiver to start the Auto Telephone Search.
 Menu key
Pressing the Menu key causes the transceiver to enter Menu Mode, and then the transceiver starts the Auto Telephone
Search by a user selecting "Auto Telephone". (Refer to
 Autodial key
Pressing the Autodial key causes the transceiver to enter Autodial Mode, and then the transceiver initiates the Auto
Telephone Search by a user pressing the Side 2 key (Portable) or the Square key (Mobile). If the connection succeeds,
the transceiver will transmit the telephone number selected from the Autodial List or entered by the DTMF codes.
To use Auto Telephone Search in Autodial Mode, Auto Telephone must be enabled using KPG-111D/ DN.
Note
For NX-200S/ NX-300S, the transceiver cannot start Auto Telephone Search by pressing the Menu or Autodial key.
Operating the Transceiver
 Auto Telephone key

Press the
Auto Telephone
"AUTO TEL" appears on the main display and then the "
will blink.
The transceiver starts the Auto Telephone Search.
The "
" icon appears when the transceiver establishes a link to
a telephone line. The transceiver receives dial tone and will be in
the phone off-hook state (dial standby state).
Note
• If the transceiver cannot connect to a telephone line for 60 sec, the Deny Tone sounds from the transceiver and then Auto
Telephone Search terminates.
• Pressing the Auto Telephone key when Auto Telephone Search is activated causes Auto Telephone Search to terminate.
