3.6 Power Supply System
This chapter describes the power supply system of the E8000E-X8.
3.6.1 Features and Distributed Architecture of the Power Supply
System
This section describes the features, distributed architecture, and PEM of the power supply
system.
If DC power source is used, connect the DC power cables to the PEM input terminals.
If AC power source is used, use a suitable external AC-DC convertor. The number of rectifier
modules of the AC-DC convertor depends on the system power consumption. The AC-DC
convertor converts AC power to DC power and supplies DC power to the PEMs.

a. The width does not include the width of the mounting ear attached.
b. The measurement point of the temperature and humidity is 1.5 m over the floor and 0.4 m in front of
the cabinet without the front and back doors.
c. Short-term operation means that continuous operating time does not exceed 48 hours and accumulated
operating time per year does not exceed 15 days. If an operation exceeds either of these conditions, it is
called a long-term operation.
