Troubleshooting | Installation and commissioning manual |
Possible cause
The power factor is below the
normal level.
The time at current limit is higher
than the set value.
The starting condition is too heavy
for the set current limit.
Bypass contactor or relay does not
close when reached TOR.
There is a communication error
between the Softstarter and PLC.
The 24V voltage outputs is
overloaded or shorted.
There is a communication error
between the Softstarter and the
HMI.
The HMI is removed.
There is a communication error
between the Softstarter and the
extension I/O module.
The Softstarter made more starts
than the pre-set limited number
of starts.
The time between trip and auto-
restart attempt exceeds setting.
The time to soft start the motor is
longer than the set value.
The frequency has been outside
the allowed range longer than the
allowed time.
Possible cause
A fault current, higher than 8 times the
Softstarter rated current, has occurred..
Voltage to 1 or more phases is missing.
Fuse is blown.
Power loss on operation current for 1 or
multiple phases.
The line contactor or circuit breaker is open.
Line contactor opens too quickly at stop.
Solution
Examine and correct the reason for the underload.
Do a check of the starting conditions and parameters.
Do a check and speak to your ABB sales office.
Make sure that the FieldBus Plug is connected
correctly.
Make sure that correct type of FieldBus Plug is used.
Make sure that the parameter Fieldbus Type is set for
the present Fieldbus type.
Do a check of the connections.
Do a check of the connections and correct it.
Put the HMI back.
Do a check of the connections and correct it.
Wait for the next start interval.
For parameter, see chapter 7 Functions.
Do a check of the automatic restart parameters and
correct it.
Do a check of the starting conditions and current
limit..
Do a check of the main voltage.
Solution
Do a check of the circuits and the motor for an
insulation fault phase to phase or ground fault.
Make sure that the mains are connected and that
no line contactor or breaker is open.
Do a check of the fuses for all 3 phases. Replace
blown fuse.
Do a check of the operation network supply.
Correct it.
Do a check of the contactor/breaker or an external
switch device. Close it.
Control Line contactor with Run signal relay on
terminal 4. See chapter 5.1.2.6 Programmable
output relay - K4, terminals 4, 5 and 6.
Add a time relay before contactor opens.
If Stop Ramp is not necessary, set Stop mode to
direct stop.
