Select the Static IP or the DHCP addressing option as specified by your
network administrator (see
Figure 2-4
If you have selected the Static IP option:

Enter the Static IP Network Setting in the text boxes.

Enter the user ID and password to store settings. Default user: root Default
password: pass.
Note
Clicking Save will store the configuration into non-volatile memory
and will re-boot the encoder. It will take approximately 45 seconds to
re-boot.

Confirm that the IP address has updated correctly by viewing the MAC
Address and IP Address on the right-hand side of the application (see
Figure
2-3)

Changing the Password

Each encoder requires authentication with a user ID and password. The
administrator (Admin) account has an ID of "root" and is used by the DVM
system to access and configure the encoder. The default password for the admin
account is "pass" but can be changed using the ENCP application. The default
password can be changed on all encoders to improve system security. This user
ID and password must also be entered into the DVM system so that it will be able
to connect to the encoder to retrieve images and change configuration. Use the
ENCP application to change the password as follows:
