LED Indicator Meanings

When there is a problem with the projector, the LED indicator on the side of the
projector illuminates or flashes continuously after the projector is turned off.
• Wait until the cooling fan stops and disconnect the power plug from the electrical outlet before
dealing with the problem.

Meaning
Temperature
The temperature inside the projector is too high for
abnormality
some reason or the outside air temperature is
higher than the operating range. If the problem is
inside the projector, check whether the projector is
installed and operating normally, unplug the
projector from the power outlet to cool down the
projector interior and then restart projection. If the
air intake or exhaust vent is blocked, remove the
obstacle. If the air filter is clogged, clean or replace
it. (P194, P196) If the same warning occurs again,
there may be a malfunction in the projector.
Contact the Canon Customer Support Center.
Faulty lamp
The lamp does not illuminate. Turn the power off
and then back on and check whether or not the
lamp illuminates. Also, check whether the air
intake or exhaust vent is blocked, and whether
the air filter is clogged with dust. The warning
may indicate if the air flow in and out of the
projector is blocked, or if the internal temperature
of the projector rises. If the air filter is clogged,
clean or replace the air filter. (P194, P196) If the
lamp does not illuminate, replace it. If the same
warning occurs again, there may be a
malfunction in the lamp drive circuit. Contact the
Canon Customer Support Center.
Faulty lamp
The lamp cover is open. Unplug the projector
cover
from the power outlet, then install the lamp cover
correctly and turn on the projector again.
If the lamp cover has been installed properly,
there may be a malfunction in the lamp cover
detection switch. Contact the Canon Customer
Support Center.
Faulty
There may be a malfunction in the cooling fan or

another component. Unplug the projector from
the electrical outlet, then plug it back into the
outlet and turn on the projector again. Contact
the Canon Customer Support Center if the same
warning occurs again.
