Managing SNMP

RUGGEDCOM ROS supports versions 1, 2 and 3 of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), otherwise
referred to as SNMPv1, SNMPv2c and SNMPv3 respectively. SNMPv3 provides secure access to the devices through
a combination of authentication and packet encryption over the network. Security features for this protocol

Description
Makes sure that a packet has not been tampered with in-transit.
Determines if the message is from a valid source.
Encrypts the contents of a packet to prevent it from being seen by an unauthorized source.
Description
Synopsis:   Any 8 characters
Default:   Primary
This field tells whether this configuration is for a Primary or a
Backup Server.
Synopsis:   ###.###.###.### where ### ranges from 0 to 255
The Server IP Address.
Synopsis:   1 to 1440 min
Default:   60 min
Determines how frequently the (S)NTP server is polled for a time
update.If the server cannot be reached in three attempts that are
made at one minute intervals an alarm is generated.
