Ethernet NIC Connectors and Cables

The Ethernet connectors on the two-port and four-port 10/100 Ethernet NICs are RJ-45
connectors. Use a straight-through cable to connect the NIC to a hub or switch, or a crossover
cable to connect directly to a host.
Use IEEE 802.3 10/100 BASE-TX Cat 5 unshielded twisted-pair, full-duplex, or half-duplex
cable. You can order appropriate adapter cables separately from a cable vendor of your choice.
Caution
Cables that connect to the Ethernet card must be IEEE 802.3 compliant to prevent
potential data loss.
