7.4 Lubrication

General
For Ballscrew type of FlexPLP IRPLP 220, each axis of FlexPLP IRPLP 220 has
five lubrication points: four on the ball bearing blocks, and one on the ballscrew
nut.
For Rack and Pinion type of FlexPLP IRPLP 220, each axis of FlexPLP IRPLP 220
has four lubrication points on the four ball bearing blocks and the rack needs
lubrication.
The lubrication is required once each year.

Lubrication ports of Ballscrew type
To access the lubrication ports of the horizontal axis, make sure that the carriage
is in maintenance position (mid-stroke) and remove the upper and side covers.
If necessary, clean the ballscrew and/or the linear guides with a lint-free cloth and
slightly lubricate them with a brush.

WARNING
Use lithium soap grease, class NLGI 0, with a mineral oil base, doped with EP
(extreme pressure) additives. The base oil viscosity must be ISO VG68 to ISO
VG 100.Grease doped with EP additives is absolutely necessary, due to high
loads on blocks.
