UA5000-->S6500-->S8512-->MA5200G

Phenomena:

When tried to download some file from internet then got maximum near 155 KB/s and minimum

0KB/s ~0.3KB/s speed.

When ping public IP from PC after conneting PPPoE then it has taken so many packet loss.

When ping from MA5200G to S6500, there is no packet loss. but when ping from UA5000 to M

A5200G or S6500, there is getting so many packet loss.

Analysis:

1. from the phenomena, there's problem between UA5000 and S6500.

2. negotiation mode is not matched.

3. traffic table has traffic suppress.

4. Vlan problem between UA5000 and S6500.

5. loop problem.

6. Virus/attack from S6500 or subscribers.

7. hardware/software problem.

Handling

1. check the negotiation mode, they are both 100M/full, try to modify them to auto-negotiated, th

2. display traffic table and traffic suppress, it is all normal, try to modify to some value, no results

3. check the vlan configuration in S6500 and UA5000 IPMB, try to forbid Vlan 1 transfer, no res

ults. the rest configuration is OK.

4. try to check loop, make packet capture, though it is some broadcast packet, but it is normal.

5. check it out, no virus/attack happen.

6. upgrade the patch from IPMB V100R013C03B031SP04 to SP06, thought it would be the kno

wn storm issue, no results.

7. by chance, we change the network cable between S6500 and UA5000 IPMB to cross, the origi

nal is straight, the packet loss is solved, and down load speed is normal, we observed for some ti

me, no happen again. problem is all solved.

Suggestions

Straight network cable is not OK with UA5000 IPMB and S6500 connected.
