Storing Your Car
If you store your car for 12 months
or longer, have your dealer perform
the inspections called for in the
24 months/40,000 km (25,000 miles)
maintenance schedule as soon as
you take it out of storage (see page
406
). The replacements called for in
the maintenance schedule are not
needed unless the car has actually
reached that time or distance.

Priming the Fuel System
(Diesel models only)
If your car runs out of fuel, the
malfunction indicator lamp will come
on, or the glow plugs indicator will
blink, and the engine will not restart
after refueling the fuel tank with the
appropriate fuel (see pages
524

).
In this case, air may have entered
the fuel system. The system requires
priming to start the engine. Prime
the fuel system as follows:
1.
Refuel the fuel tank (minimum 5
litre).
2.
Open the bonnet.
FUEL HAND PRIMER
and
Squeeze the fuel hand primer until
3.
you feel the strong resistance.
Do not press the engine cover
forcibly.
This may damage the engine cover
and component parts.
