The security system helps to protect
your car and valuables from theft.
The horn sounds (the beeping alarm
on vehicles with ultrasonic sensor)
and the turn signal lights flash if
someone attempts to break into your
car or remove the radio. This alarm
continues for 30 seconds, then the
system resets.
To reset an alarming system before
30 seconds have elapsed, unlock the
driver's door with the ignition key or
the remote transmitter.
On cars with the ultrasonic sensor,
only the remote transmitter can
reset the security system. Unlocking
the driver's door with the key cannot
reset the security system.
SECURITY SYSTEM INDICATOR
The security system sets automati-
cally 15 seconds (25 seconds with
the ultrasonic sensor activated) after
you lock the doors, bonnet, and boot.
For the system to activate, you must
lock the doors and the boot from the
outside with the key, lock tab,
master door lock switch, or remote
transmitter. The security system
indicator on the instrument panel
starts blinking immediately to show
you the system is setting itself.
Security System (For some types)
To set the ultrasonic sensor along
with the security system, you should
lock the doors and the boot with the
key or the remote transmitter.
When you lock the doors and the
boot with the key or the remote
transmitter, all outside turn signals
and both indicators in the
instrumental panel flash three times
to verify the doors and the boot are
locked and the security system has
set. When you unlock them, these
lights flash once.
Once the security system is set,
opening any door (without using the
key or the remote transmitter), the
bonnet or the boot will cause it to
alarm. It also alarms if the radio is
removed from the dashboard or the
wiring is cut.
