Fuel Filter

The fuel filter should be replaced
according to the time and distance
recommendations in the mainte-
nance schedule.
It is recommended to replace the
fuel filter every 40,000 km (25,000
miles), or 2 years (except EU,
Australia and New Zealand) if the
fuel you are using is suspected to be
contaminated with dust, etc. because
the filter may be clogged sooner.
Have a qualified technician change
the fuel filter. Since the fuel system
is under pressure, fuel can spray out
and create a hazard if all fuel line
connections are not handled
correctly.

If you see the symbol ''
the symbol with a ''WATER IN
FUEL FILTER'' message appears on
the multi-information display, ask a
dealer immediately to drain the fuel
filter of water.
After the car has been stored for an
extended period, the engine may not

the fuel system. In this case, follow

).
