1. With Catalyst 6500 series chassis installed in a rack that is adjacent to a wall, both the chassis air intake and the chassis hot air exhaust should be
positioned at least 6 inches (15 cm) from the wall.
2. With Catalyst 6500 series chassis installed in adjacent racks, the air intake of the chassis on the left should be positioned at least 12 inches (30.5 cm) from
the hot air exhaust of the chassis to the right.
3. An optional air filter assembly is available for the Catalyst 6509-NEB-A switch chassis. The air filter assembly consists of three components:
INTAKEPNL-09= (intake panel), FLTRASSM-09= (filter cage assembly), and FLTRINSERTS-09= (air filter inserts).
