Removing and Installing the Power Entry Modules (PEMs)
Plug the power cord into the PEM. (See Appendix A for a list of supported AC power cords.)
Step 5
Connect the other end of the power cord to an AC-input power source.

In a system with dual power supplies, connect each power supply to a separate input source. In case

of a power source failure, the second source will most likely still be available.
Turn the power switch to the On (|) position on the PEM.

Removing the DC-Input PEM

Before performing any of the following procedures, ensure that power is removed from the

When installing or replacing the unit, the ground connection must always be made first and

Follow these steps to remove a DC-input PEM:
Step 1
Verify that power is off to the DC circuit for the PEM that you are removing. As an added precaution,
place the appropriate safety flag and lockout devices at the source power circuit breaker, or place a piece
of adhesive tape over the circuit breaker handle to prevent accidental power restoration while you are
working on the circuit.
Loosen the captive installation screws on the PEM. (See
Step 2

Slide the PEM part way out of the chassis so that you have access to the PEM terminal block screws.

Disconnect the DC-input wires from the PEM terminal block in this order:
