System Administration
When off-hook dialing, the star code is processed by the phone as soon as it is entered and
processed by the phone. When on-hook dialing, the user can pre-dial multiple star codes before
the target number. The star codes are handled in the order they are entered, before the target
number is dialed. The *code soft key indicates the *codes available. Star codes can also be
included in a directory entry or redial list.
In addition there are two special codes:

Disabling Services

Services handled locally by the phone can be disabled by the administrator in one or two ways:

Cancel Block Anonymous Calls—Applies to all extensions.
Blind Transfer (*98)
Prefer G.711u (*017110)—Sets preferred codec to G.711u for next outbound call.
Prefer G.711a (*017111)—Sets preferred codec to G.711a for next outbound call.
Prefer G.723 (*01723)—Sets preferred codec to G.723 for next outbound call.
Prefer G.726r16 (*0172616)—Sets preferred codec to G.726r16 for next outbound call.
Prefer G.726r24 (*0172624—Sets preferred codec to G.726r24 for next outbound call.

Referral Services Codes
This is a list of star codes separated by a vertical bar (|), such as *79|*199|*09, where entering each
member triggers a blind transfer operation. The transfer target number in this case is prepended by
the corresponding star code, whereas the blind transfer itself contains the target number only
without the star code. Like a normal blind transfer, a referral service code can only be entered when
the last call is placed on hold.
Feature Dial Services Codes
This is a list of star codes separated by a vertical bar (|), where entering each member causes the
next outbound call target number to be prepended by the corresponding star code.
Directly disabling the service in the configurable profile,
Emptying out the *code associated with the service.
