Saving a Program on Tape (MT Function)
Since
the KX-101
consists of a keyboard
instrument
in combination
with a radio cassette
recorder, it lets you save the music data you have programmed with the keyboard section on
any commercially available cassette tape. Therefore, you can load the stored data into the
keyboard section at a stroke by reproducing the tape with the computerized playback func-
tions described at the beginning of this manual.
First, we will explain the method for saving music data programs on tape.
Making sure that a tune is already programmed, follow the steps described in the illustration
below.
Set the FUNCTION selector to KEYBOARD.
If it is set to TAPE, you will not be able to save the data.
Insert a cassette tape.
Press the eject button and insert the cassette tape from above, with the
side you want to save the data on facing towards you, as shown in the
illustration below.

Set according to the type of tape being used.
(NORMAL/CHROME/METAL)
Press the ten-key ''1", then the RECORD button. (For Direct Recording,
see the following.)
The tape is rewound and recording starts from the beginning of the tape.
(The RECORD button indicator lights.)
Recording (saving) is completed in about 24 seconds, and the tape stops
automatically. (The RECORD button indicator goes out.)
